Get ready for a weekend of options, especially if you're into locally driven events.
Tennessee Local Food Summit (website)
Friday - Sunday, 12/6-8 @ Trevecca Nazarene University
Think you know a lot about local food? Get ready to learn more. Registration is still open (from what I can tell) for the TN Local Food Summit at Trevecca Nazarene University Friday - Sunday. It kicks off with a reception at Sloco, then a full day of talks from Tennesse's farmers, local food specialists, sustainability experts and more. The summit closes with a close look at both the urban farm at Trevecca and Delvin Farms! Register here.
Porter Flea Holiday Market (website)
Saturday, 12/7 @ Track 1 (4th & Chestnut)
My favorite event in Nashville. I have yet to miss one, and I'm going to bring some extra totesto buy some Christmas gifts!!!
Oh, don't worry about food because there will be food trucks on site including Wrappers Delight (Get the Steakonia, I came up with it *brag brag brag*), Deg Thai (Tiger Tear Salad ftw) and RIff's (LOVE these guys). They'll also have coffee so don't waste time standing in line elsewhere, just get on down to the 'Flea!
Taken way back in 2011 at my first Grilled Cheeserie experience.
The Grilled Cheeserie Turns Three
Sunday, 12/8 @ Barista Parlor, 3pm - 6pm
Sunday, at 3pm, head to Barista Parlor to celebrate the Grille Cheeserie's 3rd birthday! It's been that long since they served their first grilled cheese (and the best salted caramel pudding I've ever tasted) and they're STILL one of my favorite trucks in town.
This event is free to all, and the first 100 people to show up get a free "melt of the moment" and even if you're not one of the first 100, the "melt of the moment" will feature meat from Porter Road Butcher and cheese from Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese.
Jeni's Ice Cream will be on hand serving up scoops of their Cloverton ice cream with honey cornbread gravel and some other flavors.
Hope to see you there!
